I'm trying to figure out if the 7625 will support some of the new timing formats defined in CEA-861-F. In particular, I am testing with the 21:9 widescreen format 2560x1080p 60Hz. It seems like it should easily support it since the resolution is less than the supported 4K (3840x2160).
I have the Rx side working as best I can tell. Providing this timing format from my QD 780B device and I am detecting the proper timing parameters and all appears well.
The problem is that the Tx is not sending out any signal. I have reviewed the register settings that I have information about and all seems well (its not powered down and the outputs are enabled, stuff like that). I also compared the register dump to normal 1080p to see the differences but didn't find anything obviously wrong. There are some differences in registers that I don't have documentation on, so that might be worth looking at on your side.
If I place the part into Mux mode operation, I do see the signal arriving at the QD 780B input. Kind of what I expected.
Looking for suggestions as to what to do with the Tx side of things. I have attached the Tx Main map register dump if that is of any help.
Has anyone there ever tried to get these new timing formats working in the ADV7625? This is really important to those of us who want to provide some HDMI 2.0 support in our products in the future.
Thanks,
Brian
